THE ARC COMPLEX

Baha‘i World Center
Haifa, Israel
Completed 2001

The complex includes five major buildings including The Seat of the Universal House of Justice, The Centre for the Study of the Texts, The Centre for International Counsellors, the archives extension and the Baha‘i International Library, all of which are set in extensive gardens. There are two major entrances at the East and the West perimeters. The complex is served by pedestrian pathway with 27m difference in elevation that also connects the two major entrances.
The pathway negotiates the difference of elevation, and provides access to the buildings, plazas and gardens of the complex. Ease of access and creation of interesting perspectives and pausing areas has resulted in a unique space that is a landmark in the city of Haifa.
